MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Charlton Athletic

Oldham Athletic welcome Charlton Athletic to SportsDirect.com Park tomorrow afternoon (7.45pm kick off).

Athletic come into the game full of confidence after moving out of the Sky Bet League One relegation places at the weekend.

Peter Clarke, Ryan McLaughlin and an own goal secured a 3-2 win over bottom side Coventry City.

That win secured John Sheridan his fourth win in seven games since his return to the club.

He is now aiming for his fifth win but knows Charlton Athletic will be a tough test for his players.

The Addicks are now managed by former MK Dons boss Karl Robinson and he has made them tough to beat.

Charlton are unbeaten in their last seven games and have not lost in 2017 yet.

However, they have drawn 14 games in Sky Bet League One this season, the most in the division.

Robinson added Nathan Byrne and Jake Forster-Caskey to his squad in the January transfer window and both have made an impression since signing for the club.

They both combined to score against Bolton Wanderers as they game ended 1-1 earlier this month.

Sheridan hinted he may make changes in his pre-match press conference.

Ousmane Fane was replaced at the weekend and the manager could elect to rest him this evening.

Aaron Holloway limped off on Saturday and is doubtful for tonight’s game with Tope Obadeyi waiting in the wings.

Charlton Athletic have no new injury worries ahead of the game.

Speaking about the game, the manager said: “They’re a strong team for this league. Over the years they have been in higher positions but they are where they are.

“They have some good players but they’re in the middle of the table in division one.

"They’ve got a really good manager who did a good job at MK Dons. I like him, I think he’s an excellent manager and I know his teams have always played football.

"He’s coming onto our pitch, which is tricky, but we will work hard and nullify what they throw at us. We will look at Charlton’s weaknesses then we will give them a problem.

“We go into the game playing with a bit of confidence and the lads are doing okay.”
