MATCH PREVIEW: Latics To Travel To South Yorkshire

Latics travel to South Yorkshire tomorrow to face Barnsley in the Sky Bet League One fixture.

Athletic enter the game on the back of four straight results in all competitions but will be boosted by a much improved performance against Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day.

Paul Rachubka is expected to retain his place in goal as Paddy Kenny recovers from a groin injury.

Ross Turnbull should return to Barnsley's starting 11 after missing the Boxing Day fixture with Preston through suspension.

Tykes boss Danny Wilson will be missing Joe Dudgeon and James Bree through injury, while Sam Winnall continues to be a long-term absentee with a hamstring problem.

Speaking about the final game of 2014, boss Johnson said: "We go to Barnsley with hopes and confidence higher. We hope we get the break of the ball more than we did against Crewe on Boxing Day.
