John Sheridan and his side welcome Blackpool to SportsDirect.com Park looking to record back to back wins in the league.
Sheridan recorded his first victory back in charge of Latics 10 days ago as Carl Winchester’s strike won the game against Shrewsbury Town.
However, due to Peterborough’s involvement in the FA Cup last weekend, Latics had a free weekend stalling the momentum.
Tomorrow’s visitors Blackpool were in action against high-flying Gillingham and they sealed a 1-0 win courtesy of Jack Redshaw’s penalty.
They have enjoyed an upturn in form as of late and are currently unbeaten in their last four games.
Last weekend’s victory took them four points clear of the relegation zone and propelled them to 19th in the Sky Bet League One table.
Connor Brown serves his final game of a three match ban after his red card against Bradford City.
Cameron Dummigan could return for tomorrow afternoon’s game whilst Brian Wilson has a groin injury which rules him out of tomorrow’s game.
Dominic Poleon is also nursing a knock and will be assessed ahead of kick off.
Neil McDonald announced Blackpool have no fresh injury concerns for the trip to SportsDirect.com Park, meaning only Lloyd Jones and Henry Cameron miss out.
Speaking about the game, manager John Sheridan said: “They have had a couple of good results and it gets belief in the team that they can get out of the position they are in so full credit to them,” commented Sheridan.
“Like ourselves, they don’t want to be where they are in the table so a couple of wins gives them that little bit of leeway.
“We’ve got two games in hand on them and we’ve got to play them twice in the next few weeks so they are big games and we know the importance of winning the game.
“It’s not really about the performance, it’s just about getting the three points and that’s what we’ll be trying to do.”
