Latics' keeper Liam Jacob is celebrating after winning a place in the Australia squad for the Asian qualifiers for the under-20 World Cup.
The 18-year-old will leave this weekend for the United Arab Emirates who are hosting the qualifiers.
Jacob only last week returned from a 10-day training camp in Portugal which is part of their preparations for the Asian qualifiers.
The youngster, who has yet to appear in Latics' first team, said at the time he hoped he did enough in the training camp to warrant his selection.
The former Aussie under-17 international joined Latics from Manchester United in the summer.
