Two goals from Lauren Steel was not enough to ensure all three points for Oldham Athletic Ladies who were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester Rovers in their final home game of the season in the Greater Manchester Football League, Division One.
Leading scorer Steel had her usual game frightening defenders with her speedy breaks. Her goals after 22 and 42 minutes should have been enough to defeat Rovers who gave Latics keeper Dominique Marshall hardly anything to do.
A combination of poor finishing and the woodwork denied Latics further goals and gradually Rovers worked their way back into the game.
Latics eventually wilted and goals after 67 and 86 minutes earned Rovers a draw.
Next week Latics will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to three games when they meet bottom-of-the-table Heyside Angels at Royton & Crompton School on Sunday, kick off 1pm.
