Owen's night to remember

1 March 2013

Youngster match mascot at Everton

Nine-year-old Owen Ward had a night to remember as Latics' match mascot for the FA Cup with Budweiser, fifth-round replay at Everton.

Dad Jerone described it as a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" after his son was chosen for the honour in a draw of Boundary Blues' members.

He said: "It was an absolutely unbelievable night.

"Everton made us welcome as did Latics.

"And a big thank you to Dean Furman who was great taking Owen into the changing room to meet the players."

Jerone also bought a Latics shirt which was signed by the players and which will be a reminder of his memorable night together.

Owen's parents Jerone and Amanda are massive Latics' fans and the family, who live at Simmondley, Glossop, hardly ever miss a match at Boundary Park. They have also been to all Latics' matches in the FA Cup.

Owen is pictured before kick off at Goodison Park lining up for the official photocall.
