Oldham Athletic Community Trust welcome Curzon Ashton under-eights to Boundary Park. They are the 'Team of the Week' for this afternoon's npower League One match against Sheffield United.
The team has been playing together since the age of five when they were coached by Mark Bradshaw who is now manager of the under-sevens. The under eights are now managed by Paul Walton and his assistants Ben Bowker and Lee Cuthburt.
The under-eights play in the first division of the East Manchester Junior Football League and recently won the annual Curzon Ashton 'Thunder Cup' and have made it through to the final of the Paul Hett Cup to be played at the Tameside Stadium in May.
They are continuing to progress as a team and are doing well in their league against some tough opposition. Recently the under-eights have been lucky enough to play against academy teams around the North West and have done very well each time they have played.
The children loved the experience of playing against these teams and are striving to progress to that level.
Their squad is: Freddie Kelly, Rory Jackson, Ryan Walton, Charlie Pelling, Joshua Simmons, Liam Cuthburt, Jake Bradley, Sam Williams, Aaron Bardsley, Joseph Davis, Dillon Edmundson, Dylan Doorman, Saul Elliot, Samuel Spencer, Kieran Cuddy.
