Midfield man is reunited with Johnson

Latics have completed the signing of midfield man James Dayton on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old has moved to Boundary Park from Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock after rejecting their offer of a new three-year deal.

Londoner Dayton, who was at Crystal Palace between the ages of 10 and 20, had loan spells with Yeovil and Crawley Town before signing for Kilmarnock in August 2010.

Dayton made 49 starts for Kilmarnock and a further 25 appearances as a substitute. He has scored seven goals including a strike against Dundee United which was the SPL goal of the season for 2011/12 season.

Keep logging on for an exclusive interview with Dayton as well as manager Lee Johnson’s thoughts about the player who was a team mate earlier this season.
