Young pro's loan to Celtic Nation
Joe Cooper today joined Carlisle-based non-league club Celtic Nation on a one-month loan.And Latics' 18-year-old defender (pictured) is set to make his debut for the Cumbrians in tonight's Northern League, Division One derby at Penrith.
Latics' manager Lee Johnson is keen for Cooper and other young professionals to go out on loan to get experience of men's football.
Cooper joins Glenn Belezika, Chris Sutherland and Luke Simpson who have also left on loan in the last fortnight.
Celtic Nation are managed by former Latics' boss Mick Wadsworth and their team includes ex-Boundary Park pair Danny Hall and Jack Laird.
The team was formed as Gilford Park Spartans and changed to their current name in 2012.
They are unbeaten in their first four matches and aiming for promotion to the Evo-Stik League.
