Lanzoni agrees deal

Latics have signed Italian defender Matteo Lanzoni on a short-term contract.

The 25-year-old centre half (pictured) has agreed a four-month deal subject to international clearance.

Lanzoni, who has been training with Latics for the last fortnight, has impressed manager Lee Johnson.

A former Italy under-19 international Lanzoni, who can also play right back, has spent most of his career at Sampdoria.

Lanzoni never appeared for Sampdoria's first team and the Genoa-based club loaned him to Bari, Sambenedettese, Mantova, PortSummaga and Foggia in Serie B and C1 to gain experience.

He played for Carrarese in C1 in 2012/13.

Keep logging on to the official website to hear what Latics' manager and Lanzoni have to say about the move.
