Kusunga move completed

Latics have completed the signing of Swiss defender Genseric Kusunga.

The 25-year-old (pictured signing) has agreed a deal for the remainder of the 2013/14 season with Latics having the option to extend it for a further year.

Kusunga, whose capture is subject to international clearance being granted, began his career with Swiss League 1 side Servette for whom he played between 2006/10.

He signed for Swiss Super League side FC Basel in 2010 and helped them win Swiss title in 2010/11 and league and cup double in 2011/12.

Kusunga spent last season on loan back at Servette and in total he played over 100 competitive matches for Servette and FC Basel.

Earlier in his career, Kusunga was called twice into the Switzerland under-21 squad, but was an unused substitute on both occasions. He has also played one game, a friendly for the full Angola international side in the build up to the 2013 African Cup of Nations.

Keep logging on to the official website to hear what Kusunga has to say about his move as well as manager Lee Johnson's thoughts about his latest capture.
