Fans vote James player of the month
James Tarkowski was the runaway winner of the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre player-of-the-month award for August.The central defender captured an incredible 78-per-cent of the vote from fans.
Tarkowski finished well well clear of Korey Smith (13-per-cent) and Jonathan Grounds (nine-per-cent) who were also shortlisted.
In the past, the player of the month has been chosen by Latics' manager.
Lee Johnson, however, wanted it to be the fans' choice and Tarkowski is the first winner of the fans' vote.
