Striker faces new spell on the sidelines
Latics have been dealt a new injury blow with Charlie MacDonald ruled out for between four and six weeks.A scan has revealed the 32-year-old striker (pictured) has a grade two tear of a thigh muscle.
It is a blow for MacDonald who has only just returned to action following an injury lay off caused by an ankle problem.
"It is very disappointing to lose Charlie, especially at such a busy time of the season," explained Lee Johnson.
Latics' manager is also without another injured striker as Kirk Millar is on the sidelines.
And in view of the loss of both MacDonald and Millar, Johnson says he is exploring bringing in a free-transfer striker.
Though the transfer window for loan signings has shut, clubs can still bring in players who are free agents and Johnson is exploring this possibility.
