Latics sign highly rated teenage striker Rhys Turner from Conference North side Stockport County

The two clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the striker who has signed an eighteen month deal with Latics.

Turner joined the Hatters in  the summer of 2013 after working with County manager Alan Lord and his assistant Phil Brown while the pair were at Myerscough College. The pair also worked with current Norwich City striker Anthony Pilkington at Myerscough before sending him to Edgeley Park.

On signing for the Hatters Brown said: "He is a superb striker with the potential to surpass any of the students we have provided to the club in the past. He has great pace, is a fantastic finisher and is deceptively strong."

Last season Turner scored an astonishing 63 goals, including 2 goals in his five appearances for the England Schoolboys team. The striker has been played in a wide position for much of the season but has still scored 6 goals from 14 starts.
