Manager Lee Johnson was happy to get a point but frustrated not to get all three as the game ended 0-0 with Brentford.
James Dayton had the best chance for Latics with only 20 minutes remaining but the winger hit his effort tamely into the hands of the goalkeeper.
The result means Latics are now unbeaten in their last four games but the gaffer believed his side should have had all three points.
He said: "I thought we deserved to win. I thought we had the better chances. We had two stonewall penalties that the referee hasn't given but Brentford are a good side.
"I thought our club today was excellent. I was proud of the players and the fans but I was disappointed we couldn't give them the three points rather than one."
Paul Rachubka pulled off a superb save at the death from Brentford's Stuart Dallas to preserve the point and Johnson spoke highly of his goalkeeper.
"It was a great save but we could have been four-nil up at that stage," the boss admitted. "Your goalkeeper is important at important times and it was a very good save but I don't want to take the gloss away from the good play we had. On the break we looked slick and we had some good chances."
Johnson had the luxury of picking the same starting 11 for the third game in succession but admits the side are struggling to put the ball away at the moment.
"It's now four games unbeaten. It's nice to keep the same side as long as I have. It's the first time this season that I've been able to do that," said the 32-year-old.
"We looked solid. We looked like we could get chances and somebody has to stick them away. I don't care who it is but somebody has got to take responsibility and put the ball in the goal."
