Adam Lockwood Signs Contract Extension

19 May 2014

Oldham Athletic defender Adam Lockwood has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The deal means the defender will remain with Latics until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Lockwood made his debut in Latics' 0-3 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers but the defender was instrumental as the club remained unbeaten for the final ten games of the season.

He scored two goals during his stay but will be banned for Latics' opening game of the season due to the red card he received against Notts County.

The 32-year-old was presented with the Spirit of Oldham award at the end of season awards for his outstanding contribution to the club since his arrival.

Manager Lee Johnson said: "We are delighted to retain Adam as he has been exceptional on and off the field and he will be an important member of our squad for next season.

"I believe he will only improve as his conditioning gets to its peak and he gets a good pre-season under his belt. Everyone will see why Adam has had an impressive career to date."
