Safeguard Group and Oldham Athletic Community Trust announce a brand new partnership

23 July 2014

Local company, the Safeguard Group, have showed their support for Oldham Athletic Community Trust by signing up as an official partner of the Community Trust.

As part of the partnership deal, the Safeguard Group will sponsor the popular Community Trust summer holiday activities, which will once again be held at the SportsDirect.com Park.

The holiday camp will run from 8.30am-5.30pm throughout the six week holidays with a whole range of fun activities including tours of the ground, multi-sport sessions and a chance to meet Chaddy the Owl and of course Oldham Athletic players. All this for only £10 per child per day.

Safeguard Group's Education and Community Lead Ben Ingham said: "I'm really pleased to help out with a project supporting the next generation of Latics fans and hopefully finding some future stars. The Community Trust is a charity that does some amazing work with the young people of Oldham and we’re proud to associate our company with them and what they’re doing. This is just the start of a long term plan for working together so watch this space!

"Wendy Noble, Oldham Athletic Community Trust Admin Manager, added: “We're delighted to have Safeguard Group on board to assist us with the delivery of our summer holiday activities. This year we have fantastic incentives for the children, such as free season tickets for block bookings. This wouldn’t be possible without their support."

Oldham Athletic Community Trust’s holiday club recently featured twice on regional news ITV Granada Reports as they ran a special one-off holiday club during the public sector strike that rapidly filled up with youngsters wanting something active to do and parents looking for an alternative to their usual childcare provision.

"Our holiday programme has really grown in popularity in the 18 months that we’ve been running it The children love the fact that it’s held at the ground and parents and carers like the positive and active approach to what we deliver. We’re almost fully booked up and there’s only a few places left so people need to be quick," said Noble.

The Safeguard Group already sponsor OAFC’s Youth Academy and have been established in Oldham for more than 30 years. We’re a leading supplier and installer of quality products including Dyson, OLIS, Mitsubishi and Precision for the Air Conditioning, Commercial Refrigeration, Drainage, LED, Leisure and Hospitality industries. The company are a local market leader in LED lighting and have the only trade showroom for Dyson commercial products in the north of England.
