Forte Delighted To Sign

1 August 2014

New signing Jonathan Forte believes he can use his experience of the division to fire Oldham Athletic to the next level.

The attacker, who penned a one-year contract with the club today, has played at League One level with Southampton, Doncaster and Sheffield United and believes he can use his experience to fire Latics out of the division.

He said: "I've known League One for quite a while now so it might seem a step down from Southampton in the Premier League in playing terms but I've not been playing and it has mostly been in League One and the Championship.

"There are some excellent players at the club and I've picked up a lot from them for the three and a half years I've been there."

The attacker can play on either wing or down the middle as a lead striker and is happy to play anywhere on the pitch.

"Wherever the gaffer wants to play me, I'll be happy to put in 100% every game. It's an exciting time ahead and I'm looking forward to playing here," commented Forte.

With just over a week until the league campaign kicks in, the attacker has outlined his ambitions with the football club.

He said: "Everyone wants to do well at the football club and I'm sure we can all pull together.

"Hopefully I can get on the scoresheet a few times and I want to do well both individually and for the team as well."
