Manager Lee Johnson believes tomorrow's clash with Doncaster Rovers will be a tough encounter but is calling on supporters to create an intimidating atmosphere to suit Latics.
The game also pits Johnson against former Oldham Athletic boss Paul Dickov and the current Latics boss is looking forward to facing Rovers and believes supporters can play a vital role in tomorrow's clash.He said: "I'm sure Paul Dickov is very grateful for what Oldham Athletic did for him because of the opportunity he got and he did well for the club. He's gone to Doncaster and although they were relegated last season, he still has a decent squad there. They are one of the favourites in the division but it's not about them, it's about us. We need to impose ourselves on them and I'm sure my players will do that.
"It's going to be a tough game, as with all the games in League One. We've got to make sure we get ourselves right for this game. The atmosphere has changed to frustration a little bit and I understand that.
"I ask for a bit of positive spirit at the moment because I know we can turn it around and we need everyone on board for that. We are only four games in and it's not a disaster at this time. Let's go to Doncaster and show them what we are about - we will do our bit on the field and you do it off it."
As expectations were high coming into the season following a successful pre-season campaign, the gaffer admits it has been a tough time recently but is working hard to put things right.
"I know people get frustrated and I understand fully. There is nobody else in the world more frustrated than me because I live and breathe it, every minute of every day. We need to take a step back because it's early in the season. Trust us that we are doing the right things from top to bottom. We need people for the 90 minutes on Saturday and they are so that's fantastic."
With the summer transfer window coming to an end on Monday night, Johnson has left no stone unturned and reassured supporters he is on top of potential targets.
"Fans can rest assured that we have covered every player in this country and abroad and most of them have a circumstance. We are aware of every single one of those circumstances so all we can do now is monitor players," commented the 33-year-old.
"When players come into our bracket, we will all be aware of it and we will do what is best for the club. I will not be bringing players in that will not better us because what is the point."
