Manager Lee Johnson heaped huge praise on his players after seeing his side grab their first win of the season against Doncaster Rovers.
An early strike from Jonson Clarke-Harris and a second half penalty from Jonathan Forte secured Latics a 2-0 win and their first three points of the season and the gaffer was delighted with the result. He said: "I'm super happy. I'm pleased for the lads because we've had a tough time recently. I thought we were excellent last week and I thought second half we were magnificent and we should have won by five.
"We've got our first win of the season now and it's time for us to kick on in the league which I know we can.
"The lads were fantastic and credit to them. We've done a lot of hard work on the training ground this week and the stuff that we have been doing will remain a secret but they put it into practise and I'm delighted.
"I thought everybody was very good. It does take time to bed in principals to a new group and it's about time we kick on from this. Doncaster are a good side with good players and we nullified all their threats."
Johnson, who saw his side leap into 17th position, was quick to praise his goalscorers, especially Clarke-Harris.
"They are the goals we want him to score because he's got in the right area. He was brave and we got a bit of luck so I'm happy for Jonno," commented the boss, before adding: "Forte should have had more but he's got to make sure to stick them in as he would have gone top scorer in the division had he scored.
"He's struggling through it at the moment though as he's not training much and just coming in for games but he's nice and effective."
The visiting support of 681 played their part in yesterday's victory and the 33-year-old recognised that.
"There was a lot of passion at the end. The supporters were magnificent because they did not stop singing all game. We won the game on the pitch and they won the game in the stands," said Johnson.
