Oldham Athletic AFC would like to thank all players, staff and supporters for helping raise a substantial amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support today.
Ran by the Oldham Athletic Community Trust, all the players were in attendance to taste and devour their favourite cakes, baked by the staff, as well as raising money to a worthy charity.Ranging from cheesecake to banana bread, the afternoon was a success which was enjoyed by all.
Speaking about the day, organiser Wendy Noble said: "Macmillan offer great support to cancer patients and I am delighted with how the day has gone. The money raised will go a long way to helping patients and go towards research for the charity which is pleasing. The players seemed to enjoy themselves and I want to thank them for their attendance."
The top three cakes, winning prizes were:
- First prize (Meal for two at Armaani restaurant): Helena Wilkes - Events Control.
- Second prize (Luxury cake): Ian Reddish - Office Administrator
- Third prize (£10 Tesco Voucher): Foysol Ahmed - Community Trust Coach
