Manager Lee Johnson believes Saturday's game with Chesterfield will be an open encounter and should be a good one for the neutral.
The gaffer takes his side to the Proact Stadium on Saturday looking to extend the unbeaten run which has seen Latics not lose since the middle of August.
Chesterfield, who finished champions of Sky Bet League Two last season, will be tough opposition for Johnson's men but he is expecting an exciting encounter.
He said: "I think this will be a very good game. It will be attacking and we have moved into that phase now where we feel we are solid enough and going into attack teams. Our boys are confident, their boys are confident and they are coming back from a last minute defeat to Bristol City last week. I think it will be a big showstopper and one to watch."
Eoin Doyle has started the season in blistering form, topping the League One goalscoring charts, but the manager does not want to focus his attention on just one man.
"We have certainly got to be aware of his movements and penalties. He scores all types of goals and he has hit a real purple patch. We have to make sure that our defenders are aware of his qualities and that is what we will be doing via the analysis and training," commented Johnson.
"If we worry just about one player though, they have enough talent in their squad to punish us. They have Roberts, Johnson and Gnanduillet who could be a threat, two good midfielders and full backs that bomb on. It's not about them, it's about us but we have to be aware of their threats."
With a good following expected from Latics supporters, the 33-year-old is calling on them to make the difference on Saturday.
"We are on a nice path at the moment which is good but we have a few tough games coming up. We will just continue on our pursuit of excellence and help galvanise the town through football. If people are enjoying themselves then that is what we want. If that is the case, tell a friend and bring them down," said Johnson.
"I'm really looking forward to the game and it will be one for the neutral. When I look at the two teams and the two systems then i think it will be exciting to watch. I hear we are going to take between 700-1,000 fans and I'm sure there will be goals to see."
