Dieng Adjusting To Life In England

31 October 2014

Timothee Dieng gave his first ever interview to Latics Player subscribers yesterday and feels he has settled into life in England well.

The central defender, who can also operate in midfield, has started the last five games, partnering James Wilson and the side have yet to lose under the pairing.

After joining in the summer from French first division side, Stade Brestois, the 22-year-old told Latics Player: "It is different in England. It is more physical and the rhythm is at a higher tempo. At France it is more about tactics. It is a fast game in England and I had to learn quickly.

Dieng is no stranger to the central defensive role as he explains: "In France I played centre back so when I played there with Oldham, it is not a problem for me."

Latics travel to Bristol City tomorrow afternoon looking to extend their unbeaten run to 14 games in all competitions but the Frenchman admits he does not know much about his opponents.

He said: "I know they are first in the division and they are a good team but that is all I know!"

As it is halloween today, Dieng was asked who the scariest player was in the squad and quickly replied: "George Elokobi!"
