Oldham Athletic Player Visit

19 November 2014

Duo Dominic Poleon and Jordan Bove visited Rushcroft Primary School recently to support the school's programme currently being delivered Oldham Athletic Community Trust coaches in the school.

The visit saw the pair spend time with two groups of children who each week have been taking part in after-school sessions delivered by the Community Trust coaches.

The after-school sessions run twice a week for children in year one to four. Within Rushcroft there is a large Oldham Athletic fan base and in addition to visiting those who have been taking part in the after-school sessions Dominic and Jordan also took the time to say hello to those young Oldham Athletic fans.

Jordan and Dominic spent around 20 minutes with each group as the eager youngsters had plenty of questions for the pair on what it is like to be a professional footballer. The children had been looking forward to the visit for some time and had even made small Oldham Athletic autograph books ready for the two players to sign.  To finish off the visit the players presented the children with a certificate for their participation on the after-school sessions.

The visit was a part of the Oldham Athletic Community Trust schools programme and part of hundreds of visits done by the Oldham Athletic players every year. During the 2013/2014 season Oldham Athletic and Oldham Athletic Community Trust organised over 800 player visits, in fact only five other professional clubs (Gillingham, Millwall, MK Dons, PNE and Tottenham Hotspurs) recorded more visits than the football club.
