Community Trust Launch New Youth Hub Project

23 March 2017

Oldham Athletic Community Trust, along with several partners, are delighted to announce a brand new addition to their successful Premier League Kicks project.

The new project, titled the Oldham Athletic Youth Hub, will provide free evening provision one night per week for young people aged between 8-14 in the Limeside area of Oldham with OACT coaches, alongside staff from the OASIS Academy Hub, delivering activities such as football (outside on the pitch), pool, table tennis and much more on offer.

OACT will work alongside key partners such as Regenda Homes, Contour Homes, Oldham Council (Hollinwood Councillors and the Kerching Youth Opportunity Fund) and OASIS Academy HUB to deliver the project aimed at providing young people with positive activities to engage with during the evenings.

The project will be based at the Tenants Hall on Blackthorn Road starting on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

Martin Vose, OACT Community Manager commented: “Through consultation with key partners in the area we believe that this project will address real issues of need. The youth hub sees several key partners all working together and demonstrates what can be achieved through collaborative working.

“The project will create a positive legacy for the area, we are in the process of purchasing new equipment for not only our youth hub night but which can be used by all organisations in the future.”

Keep an eye out on the trusts social media platforms (Twitter - @OACT and Facebook – OfficialOACT) for further details of this project as well as keeping up to date with all of the work they deliver across Oldham.
