On this day in 2003, Wayne Andrews scored a brace against Northampton Town to help keep Oldham Athletic on track for a promotion place.
Latics travelled to Sixfields and beat the the home side 2-0, thanks to Andrews’ goals.
A crowd of 5,646 watched Iain Dowie’s men record their fifth consecutive victory over the Cobblers.
The result was part of an eight game unbeaten run which boosted the Blue’s chance of going up that season.
The win kept Latics in fourth spot in Division Two, they would later go on to play in the play-offs but miss out on promotion after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Queens Park Rangers.
The forward went on and scored 11 times in 38 league appearances that season before moving to Colchester United.
