Support Oldham Athletic Duo As They Complete Football To Amsterdam Challenge

22 March 2017

Two Oldham Athletic staff members are taking on the Football to Amsterdam challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Accounts & HR officer Tom Matley and supporter services manager Jamie White are to take on the challenge in the summer.

More than 250 members from over 50 football clubs will be cycling from two UK locations to Amsterdam in support of Prostate Cancer UK, The EFL's long-term official charity partner.

In total the team will cycle over 150 miles over two days starting from Barnsley FC heading south east along the beautiful Dearne Valley, then north to Doncaster and on to Hull ready for the overnight ferry to the Netherlands.

The following day they will cycle through the Netherlands along specially made cycle tracks to finish at the famous Ajax Stadium all the while fundraising to hit their £2,000 target.

Speaking about the challenge, Tom said: "Anything we as a club can do to help fight the disease of Prostate Cancer, then we will do it.

"I am taking on the tough challenge but it's all for a good cause. I can't ride a bike at the moment so I have my work cut out but it will be worth it.

"Please dig deep and help support us in our challenge and hopefully we can hit our target as soon as possible."

Also, there will be buckets at the ticket office window to donate.
