Youngster makes it to relay final

Diggle's Jessica Lloyd has tonight missed out in her quest for an Olympic medal.

The 17-year-old, whose father Garry is a Latics' season-ticket holder, helped Great Britain finish fifth in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

Jessica this morning swam the second leg as Great Britain finished fourth in their heat to claim a place in the final.

Tonight they swam almost 1.2sec quicker but were well behind the Australians who smashed the Olympic record for the event.

Jessica was a guest at Boundary Park towards the end of the season as the club wished her all the best for the Olympic Games and presented her with a signed shirt featuring 'Lloyd 2012.'
