Heartfelt Message From A Bradford City Supporter

31 March 2015

A letter from a Bradford City supporter to Oldham Athletic...

FANTASTIC GESTURE

I am writing to your football club as a Bradford City supporter. I was in attendance at the game on Saturday, March 28, 2015 when in the 56th minute, your away following gave a round of applause in memory of the 56 people who died in the Bradford fire in 1985.

All too often football supporters make the headlines for all the wrong reasons but I feel that the away fans on Saturday were a true credit to Oldham Athletic and indeed football. This year is the 30th anniversary of the disaster and will bring back all the painful memories of the past. In the end every football supporter is in the journey together and it shows great dignity with gestures like Saturday. Young people today need to be taught how to respect the past and I feel on Saturday your support was spot on.

I just felt that it was right to contact the football club and shows my appreciation personally.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

A Bradford City supporter
