Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce the plans for the opening of the club's new facilities in the North Stand at SportsDirect.com Park.
Following meetings this week between the club, developer Holroy Developments Ltd., the Safety Advisory Group and Building Control, we have now received the go ahead to inform supporters of the phased opening, commencing ahead of schedule with the Capital One Cup tie against Middlesbrough on Wednesday, August 12.
The stand will be opened with a series of ramp up events as per safety requirements, which means opening with a limited capacity until full health and safety approval is received. The first of these will be the Middlesbrough game where we will be able to use a maximum of 50% of the seating capacity. All the ground floor facilities including the new concourse bars will be open for this fixture.
Season ticket holders in the North Stand only will be able to apply for these tickets on a first come first served basis.
The second ramp up event will be our opening home Sky Bet League One fixture against Fleetwood Town on Saturday, August 15. We will have a maximum of 75% of the North Stand capacity available for this fixture. All Season Ticket Holders seats will be available plus a limited number for advance purchase.
Our third and final ramp up event will be the Shrewsbury Town fixture on Saturday, August 22, when we will have all seats available.
Box holders, 100 Club members and Broadway Suite members have been contacted individually and will be able to use their seats for all fixtures.
Following the ramp up events, and subject to final safety approval, we will be opening the executive boxes and Broadway Suite for the Bradford City fixture on September 5. The final phase of the opening will see the 1895 Suite launched at the Wigan Athletic fixture on Saturday, September 26.
Chairman Simon Corney said: "These are very exciting times for the club and supporters. The stand is looking fantastic and everyone is working extremely hard in the run up to the new season to have this ready for the fans. I’m sure it will be a proud moment for all to see this opened."
The club will announce more details of all the plans in the run up to the start of the new campaign including further information relating to the gym and medical imaging centre which will also be housed in the new stand.
Box holders, Broadway Suite and 100 Club members are being advised accordingly.
