Palmer: “I’ve Really Enjoyed The Start Of My Oldham Career.”

5 February 2016

On loan midfielder Matt Palmer has settled into life at Oldham Athletic well and wants to help guide the club away from danger.

Palmer signed on loan in the January transfer window until the end of February and has appeared in two games so far this season.

He was unfortunately on the losing side against Bury but was instrumental in the win against Shrewsbury and cannot wait to get going tomorrow.

He said: “I’ve really enjoyed the start of my Oldham career.

“It’s been two good games in which I think we should have got three points from and we got the win against Shrewsbury so I feel we can kick on from that.

“I definitely think we can get out the position we are in.

“We have some good players in the dressing room and after only being here for two games, I can see more than enough to get us out of the position we are currently in if we get some wins under our belt.”

Blackpool are the visitors tomorrow and the 20-year-old has given his views ahead of the game.

“Burton have played against Blackpool previously and I think every game in this league is different,” he admitted.

"You can’t really over analyse each team, you just have to go out and play your own game and hopefully that’s good enough.

"We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves. We will put the work in on the training pitch and hopefully that comes good on Saturday.”

Asked if the youngster would like to extend his loan with Latics, Palmer replied: “I’d love to extend my loan here.

“I’m playing week in week out and that’s what any player wants to do so we’ll have to see what happens at the end of the month and go from there."
