Palmer Recalled By Burton Albion

11 April 2016

Midfielder Matt Palmer has been recalled by his parent club Burton Albion.

The 21-year-old joined the club in January, making 14 appearances, scoring one goal.

That goal came in the 1-0 victory over Blackpool in March whilst his performances became a hit with supporters.

Speaking about his departure, manager John Sheridan said: “Unfortunately Matty is going back but that’s just the nature of the beast.

"When you bring a player in on loan and he is doing well, there is always a good chance the club is going to call him back.

"I appreciate Nigel [Clough] letting me have him in the first place. Matty has come in and done terrific and helped us to get good results with his performances.

“It’s a shame he has to go back but at the end of the day, he is Burton’s player so you’ve got to respect that.

"Matty has enjoyed his time here, the fans liked him but he’s gone back now and it enables someone to fill that hole.

"Without sounding harsh, that’s all I’ve got to concentrate on now, filling the place Matty is leaving. We didn’t want him to go back and it’s disappointing but that’s life.”

We would like to thank Matty for his services and wish him all the best for the future.
