Latics forward Danny Philliskirk wants to add more goals to his game heading into the second half of the season.
Philliskirk, who bagged a brace earlier in the season to win the game against Scunthorpe United, has five goals for the season so far.
After hitting the net 12 times last season, the forward is targeting further goals to beat his previous tally.
"I have five this season and I've got a few more assists than last year but I do like to score goals as that is my job. I defend for the team at times but maybe I have to sacrifice that a bit and try and be more positive at times.
"I spoke to the manager and he told me to carry on doing what I'm doing but I would prefer to get more goals. But as long as the team is up there and we are winning I don't mind. It is better than being in a relegation battle and I think this team we can definitely fly high."
The 24-year-old highlighted the effect his teammates have had on his own game personally. "Jabo is a very good player and he was a good target man for me. I've got to give credit to Dom and Amari who played tremendously at the weekend," Philliskirk commented.
"They put themselves about and worked tirelessly. When you have two strikers who want to do that it gives you a chance to win a few balls in the centre of midfield.
"When you have a player like Liam Kelly, who does it unbelievably, then it makes my game so much easier. If he nicks 20 interceptions a game, I can pick up the second balls and we can go from there. Players around you help you for sure."
