Officials at SportsDirect.com Park were saddened to learn of the death of Bob Ledger recently.

Bob, 77, died peacefully following a short illness with his family present at his bedside.
 
Bob joined Oldham Athletic from Huddersfield Town in 1962 for a £6,000 fee and went on to make 222 appearances for Athletic, scoring 37 goals.
 
Born in County Durham on October 5, 1937 he made his Latics debut against Bradford City on August 18, 1962.
 
Big hearted Bob was a fine crosser of the ball who began his career at Boundary Park playing on the right wing.
 
Ever present in Athletic’s promotion winning side of 1962-63 scoring nine goals.
 
In his final season with Latics he scored 11 goals from just 16 appearances playing as an out-and-out centre forward before moving on to join Mansfield Town in December 1967.
 
Bob’s funeral took place today (Friday, September 18) and everyone at Oldham Athletic AFC offer deepest condolences to the Ledger family and all his many friends from around the football world.
