Safer Internet Day – February 9

9 February 2016

Let’s stamp out social media abuse and create a better internet together.

On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, millions across the UK and globally will be celebrating Safer Internet Day.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the day is a great opportunity to talk to your family and friends about the safe and positive use of technology, and to ‘share a heart’ to help create a kinder online community.

Visit the UK Safer Internet Centre website (www.saferinternet.org.uk) where you can take the quiz, see what’s happening for the day, and find out more about what you can do to help keep your friends and family safer online.

Help make the internet a better place this Safer Internet Day

1.       Help stamp out online abuse by reporting any bullying, trolling or hate crime you see. Find out how to report on the most popular social networks at www.saferinternet.org.uk/safety-tools.

2.       Talk to your children, friends or family about what to do if anything worries them online, and look out for each other online.

3.       Make the internet a better place by doing something kind online. What can you do this Safer Internet Day? Post online using #SID2016 and join the #shareaheart social media campaign.
