Interim manager David Dunn has added full back Richard Eckersley to his squad on a three-month contract, subject to international clearance.
Eckersley came through the youth ranks at Manchester United, making two senior appearances before joining Burnley in 2009.The 26-year-old enjoyed loan spells with Plymouth Argyle, Bradford City and Bury before joining Toronto FC in 2011.
In a two year career there, he played over 50 times earning him a move to New York Red Bulls last season.
After nine appearances, Eckersley sighted a return to England to move closer to his family.
He will wear the number 24 shirt during his time with the club.
