Latics have signed experienced goalkeeper Paddy Kenny on loan until January 5, 2015 from Bolton Wanderers.
Kenny has enjoyed an illustrious career, playing over 600 appearances mainly for Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United.The goalkeeper played in the Premier League during the 2011/12 season and helped keep QPR in the Premier League.
The 36-year-old was released from Leeds United at the end of last season and joined Bolton in the summer.
Kenny will now challenge Paul Rachubka and Neil Etheridge for a starting spot in the starting 11.
Manager Lee Johnson said: "Paddy is coming in to add quality and experience to the squad. He goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game with Rochdale."
