Wilson: "It's A Big Eight Games Coming Up."

27 March 2015

Oldham Athletic full back Brian Wilson is excited for the final run-in as his side sit four points off a play-off place going into Saturday's trip to Bradford City.

The 32-year-old, who has played over 30 times for Latics in his debut season for the club, is happy to welcome back experienced players to the squad and he believes it sets them up nicely for the end of the season.

He said: "It's a big eight games coming up and we've just got to win each one and see where we are come the end of the season.

"Mills is back in training, James Wilson and Liam Kelly is training so it strengthens the team up. To be a manager you have to make those tough decisions and that is down to Dean to make.

"It's a big game on Saturday. It helps going into the game on the back of back-to-back wins. The Oldham fans take numbers to the away games so that's good for the players and the atmosphere."

Wins against Crewe and Rochdale have seen Latics jump to within four points of the play off places. "Confidence is a massive thing in football," admitted Wilson.

"We were in a massive game on Tuesday night against our rivals and that game gave the fans and players a lift. Saturday is a good game to go in to and we know it's a big game. If we win, it puts us into touching distance of the play-offs."

After missing the last two games with illness, Wilson gave an update on his situation. "I'm better than what I was," he said.

"I had a bit of cold on Saturday and it got worse over the weekend but I'm back in and hopefully I can come back through training okay."
