ABOUT OLDHAMATHLETIC.CO.UK
After months of consultation between Football League clubs, Premium TV and Football League Interactive (FLi), oldhamathletic.co.uk became one of the first sites to launch when it went live in May 2007.
The site has seen many changes since the groundbreaking FLPTV deal was signed in 2001/02, the biggest of these being the inception of the World service in time for the following campaign.
Fans could now follow Latics' run to the 2002/03 Division Two play-offs online with live commentary, video highlights and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from deep within the club.
The site was redesigned once again in 2003, and both hits and revenue gradually grew before PTV and FLi announced the inception of 'Project Cuba' in 2006. Following weeks of hard work in the background in both Oldham and London, the new-look oldhamathletic.co.uk went live in May 2007.
The site was highly rated in the 2008 Football League Supporter's Survey.
Oldhamathletic.co.uk finished in third place overall in League One, with an average breaking news approval score of 8.60 / 10.
The League average was 7.65, with the average in the Championship clocked at 8.01.
Here's a brief look at the people behind the site, and the roles they play in bringing you all the latest news:
Stu Vose
Stu is the club's Press Officer and heads up the oldhamathletic.co.uk team. He is primarily responsible for all areas of the website, from day-to-day reporting to coverage of all senior and reserve home and away games, in addition to other roles within the media department.
He joined Oldham in July 2006 after working as a full-time journalist in Newcastle.
Stu has also worked freelance for, amongst others, the League Paper, Non-League Paper, Stoke Sentinel, Birmingham Post, Sunday Mercury, Birmingham Mail and Sky Sports.
Gordon Lawton
Gordon is one of the club's longest-serving members of staff and is primarily responsible for Blue Pride, the club's multi-award winning matchday programme. However, he also spends a lot of time working for oldhamathletic.co.uk.
Press conferences are Gordon's forte, and he can be regularly found fronting the site's Latics World coverage. Also, he clocks up the miles alongside Roy Butterworth to bring World subscribers live commentary from away games around the country, as well as deputising for Stu on main website duties in his absence.
Roy Butterworth
'Mr. B' is a key member of the team. A veteran of over 45 seasons as a member of the Boundary Park setup, Roy fills a vital role by acting as the club's Press Officer on a matchday, looking after the Press.
Also, he provides the web team's transport to every single League, Cup and friendly game, and provides useful insight alongside Gordon in the commentary box at various grounds up and down the country.
As of August 2007, Roy has also been Mike Leyland's co-commentator on Latics World for home games.
Tom Pickles
Now oldhamathletic.co.uk's longest-serving photographer, Tom snaps away on the sidelines at all Latics' home fixtures, and also most away games. His work can also be seen in the Oldham Evening Chronicle, as well as a number of local newspapers and websites up and down the country.
Sean Hansford
Sean is a working press photographer with the Guardian Media Group, and attends numerous home games to contribute images to oldhamathletic.co.uk.
Andrew Schofield
Andrew joined the photography team in 2007, and is now having photos published on both oldhamathletic.co.uk and in Blue Pride, the club's official matchday programme.
Lee Dickenson
Lee is a recent addition to the team and has chipped in with some important photographic contributions. He covers most home and some away games.
Lois Best
As the Manager of the Latics Club Shop, Lois takes reponsibility for running the club's official online store. She receives and processes all online orders, as well as keeping the store up-to-date.
Tanya Blakey
Tanya takes time out being the club's Centre of Excellence Administrator to write the match reports for all the youth side's fixtures, as well as co-ordinating match reports for all the Centre of Excellence teams and the entire Centre of Excellence site. Her knowledge of the youth development set-up is invaluable.
Mike Leyland
Mike was recruited towards the end of 2006 to provide commentary on the Club's official match videos. He became the main Latics World commentator on all home games in August 2007.
Michael Chadderton
Michael is a recent addition to the team. He provides colour articles and features for the main oldhamathletic.co.uk site.
Patrick Slevin
Pat joined the team during the 2007/08 season, and provides all home matchday commentary for club DVDs and Latics World.
