As Latics continue to struggle to find the net, Dave Penney is looking to his midfield men to recapture last season's goalscoring form.

Chris Taylor last season scored 11 goals while Danny Whitaker weighed in with eight, a far cry to this season as the pair have managed only three goals between them.

The Latics manager said: "It is important we can goals from all areas - set plays, wide areas - so we don't have to rely entirely on our centre forwards.

"Pawel Abbott and Jason Price have scored three of our last four goals and it is important everybody chips in as Joe Colbeck did at Swindon.

"Chris has had his injury problems this season, but hopefully he is over them and he can start scoring again."
