Manager John Sheridan will shuffle his pack tomorrow when his side pit their wits against Championship side Burnley.

The Boundary Park chief will chop and change as a whole host of fringe players look to battle their way into the starting eleven.

Shez has a number of options in all areas of the pitch and will take advantage as the league programme gives way to cup action.

"People need games and the opportunity is there to play one or two different players," he revealed.

"I've got a big squad and that gives the opportunity to rest some of the lads and a couple of others who have picked up knocks.

"The games come thick and fast and it'll be good to put the players who come in up against a Championship side.

"But no matter what team I put out it will be good enough to go there and win the game."

Burnley claimed their first point of the season courtesy of a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

But Owen Coyle's men saw off Bury at Gigg Lane to set up a second tie against Athletic in as many years.

The Clarets may have struggled to fire so far, but Sheridan remains aware of the threat the Championship outfit can offer.

He added: "Burnley are a good team who play decent football and we know a little bit about what to expect from last year.

"It's a good test for us against a Championship side who will probably go into the game as favourites."

Sheridan continued: "But we will be looking to go there and give a good account of ourselves, and the lads should be full of confidence after four great results.

"We'll be keeping our feet on the ground, though, as we know it'll be a difficult game and it's a long season."
