Manager John Sheridan says his side will be in for a totally different ball game when Huddersfield Town come to Boundary Park tomorrow (KO 3pm).

Athletic played out an enthralling 3-3 draw at Hartlepool last week, but the Latics chief is anticipating a different kind of test against Stan Ternent's outfit.

The hosts will be gunning to extend their 100% home record and maintain their place at the top of League One, but Sheridan says hard graft will be required to achieve that goal.

"This will be a totally different game compared to Hartlepool," he said.  "Huddersfield are a big, strong side who are more direct than Hartlepool, and we will have to deal with what they throw at us.

"But we will concentrate on the way we want to play because we have done very well at home so far.  Our aim is three points.

"Hopefully there will be a decent gate - we're top of the table and we will have to be ready for a battle because that's what this game will be.

"We will try to get the ball down and play like we have been doing."

Terriers boss Ternent will bring his Huddersfield team to Boundary Park for the first time, and the experienced ex-Bury and Burnley man is a figure his counterpart Sheridan respects.

The Latics chief added: "They are both very experienced and know how to get out of this division.  I like Stan - he's an experienced manager and is a very hard taskmaster, and of course I know Ronnie as well.

"They rate us as a team, but that doesn't mean anything.  We will have to earn the right and I know Stan will come here and make things difficult for us."
