Athletic must start taking their chances if they are to continue to lay claim to a top-six spot.

That's the view of Boundary Park chief John Sheridan, who has tasked his side with claiming three points at Millwall tomorrow to erase memories of the midweek defeat to Bristol Rovers.

The fact that the Lions also lie in the play-off zone adds a dollop of extra spice to what's sure to be a hotly-contested encounter at a hostile New Den.

Shez saw a slew of chances fall by the wayside on Tuesday before the Pirates punched back with two second-half goals.

As a result spare time has been at a premium for the squad this week.  "The players had their day off cancelled and we have been working hard ahead of the game," said Shez.

"That hard work will continue every single day because a play-off spot is very achieveable and I want to make sure we realise that aim.

"The players will have a lot of hard work on their hands over the coming weeks because days off will be a rare thing from now until the end of the season."

Millwall came from behind to beat Cheltenham in midweek to continue their claim for a play-off spot, and Sheridan is full of respect for Kenny Jackett's side.

"Kenny has a good side there and they are well in with a shout of going up this year, but we know we can get a result down there and we must go into the game with confidence.

"This is just one of a number of big games coming up and the teams around us are putting wins on the board - we need to respond."
