Athletic's ladies side twice came from a goal behind to stroll through to the League Cup semi-final.

Lauren Carey and Shirley Boulton replied for the visitors after Bury had taken a shock early lead against the newly-crowned champions.

And there was a further sting in the tail as the home side roared back to take a 3-2 lead into the break.

But Latics were back in front after Kelly Sessman, Yvette Brooksbank and Melissa Lane all netted in a devastating ten-minute spell after the restart.

Lisa Jones added a double -- including a cheeky lob -- before Brooksbank scored her second of the game in the closing stages to round off a comfortable win.
