Victoria Park was originally a limestone quarry before the land was bought by the town's rugby club in 1886 before being acquired by the football club after their rugby counterparts went bust in 1908.
In 1916, the Main Stand was destroyed after being bombed by a German zeppelin during the First World War.
A temporary stand was built, and this was not replaced until the 1980's. Major redevelopment works were carried out in 1996.
