Referee Andy Penn will take charge of tonight's Lancashire derby between Latics and Burnley at Turf Moor tonight.

The two sides meet in the second round of the Carling Cup for the second consecutive season - a repeat of last year's tie at the same stage.

Penn has already refereed three games this season, and took charge of Bradford's 2-0 win over Rochdale at Valley Parade last Saturday.

He refereed 33 games in 2007/08, handing out 71 yellow cards and six reds - an average of 0.182 red cards per game.

The West Midlands official last took charge of Athletic in March 2008, when he was in the middle for the 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers at Boundary Park.
