John Sheridan can call on the services of Craig Davies this weekend after the striker completed his ban.

Last season's top scorer was ruled out for three games after being dismissed for violent conduct during the Carling Cup tie at Rochdale.

But although the Welsh international is back in the squad for the game at Colchester, he may be hard-pressed to tie down a berth in the team.

Lee Hughes and Lewis Alessandra have established themselves up front and Athletic have won both games in which the pair have started together.

However, Davies' return provides manager Sheridan with more options ahead of a tough trip to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
