On-loan midfielder JP Kalala endured a miserable weekend as he was sent off for Grimsby against Bury at Gigg Lane.

The DR Congo international received his marching orders for two bookable offences, but his side went on to beat the high-flying Shakers 2-0.

Kalala - who is on loan at Blundell Park until January 3 - will now serve an automatic one-match ban.  Chris O'Grady also played in the same game, completing the full 90 minutes.

Elsewhere, Craig Davies played the first 45 minutes for Stockport County as they went down 1-0 to Millwall at the New Den.

And John Thompson played the full 90 minutes for Notts County as Jonathan Forte netted a hat-trick in a thumping 4-0 victory over Barnet at Underhill.
