Latics chief John Sheridan will serve a two-match ban following a meeting of the FA Disciplinary Commission in Manchester earlier.

Sheridan was charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 - improper conduct - after being sent to the stands during his side's 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park earlier this season.

The Boundary Park supremo, who was represented by the League Managers' Association at the hearing, has also been fined the sum of £500.

Assistant Tommy Wright took the players for training today and also handled the press conference as Sheridan had requested a personal hearing.
