John Sheridan and his staff were putting the final touches to preparations today ahead of the big game against promotion contenders Southend United at Roots Hall.

The squad met at Boundary Park and put in some preparatory work on the Little Wembley training facility before the team coach left the ground at 12.30pm.

The players will stay overnight this evening to rest up before heading to the game in the early afternoon following a light pre-match meal.

In addition, the media team are also staying in the team HQ.  Messages have already been passed to the chefs regarding extra breakfasts for one particular guest - commentator Gordon Lawton.
